About Us
Welcome to our page. We are the Garner family and we run a small family farm located in the Redland Agriculutural District of Miami Dade County, Florida. Since we are in Agriculutral Zone 10B, we are fortunate enough to be able grow exotic tropical fruits. In total, our farms consist of over fifteen acres of land and home to over 1000 fruit trees.
We are a military family. The Air Force is what brought us down to Homestead, Florida. My husband and I were stationed at Homestead Air Reserve Base.
Our love for agriculture started in 2011. Our family purchased an old abandoned mango grove near the Fruit and Spice park. The trees were overgrown and malnourished. We were happy to get them back to health.
Since our family lives on the farm and drinks from an established well in the grove, it is a priority for us to build the soil and care for the trees as natural as possible. The majority of our fertilizer is provided by our animals and composted organic material. As we feed and care for our chickens, turkeys, and wild peacocks, they in turn forage for insects and provide valuable nutrition to our rockland soil.
